Pavement is an American indie rock band formed in 1989 in Stockton, California. Since their inception, Pavement has cultivated a reputation for their lo-fi sound, offbeat lyrics and eclectic blending of genres such as punk, alternative rock and folk. They gained a cult following in the 1990s and are widely considered as a seminal influence for many subsequent indie rock acts.
